ETHYLENE GLYCOL MONOBUTYL ETHER (Butyl cellosolve) is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. It is one of the fastest-evaporating glycol ethers. It is compatible with most binders. It is highly soluble in water. Butyl glycol is easily decomposed by microorganisms.

Application:

  • Coalescent in water-based paints
  • Solvent in organosoluble coatings
  • Binder for architectural water-based paints
  • Binder in the production of cleaners and detergents
  • Solvent for pesticides
  • Diluent for hydraulic brake fluid
